It’s a Lovely Life: Fireworks

Please accept our sincerest apologies for neglecting the blog this past week, we’ve been quite busy at Lovely Living, but now we’re back to tell you about some of the fun things we’ve been up to!  Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend, we sure did.  Ours was filled with family, friends, fireworks, and a bit of time spent at the local Valley Thrift (more to come on that later).

I had never been to the annual WEBN Fireworks, despite living in the area my entire life, so this year, now that we are living in Cincinnati, I made it a priority.  This weeks Lovely Living Event is a dose of good ol’ Americana.  We gathered a group of friends, ignored the weather warnings, and zipped on down to the riverfront.

Here is some of our group, apparently Oliver and Laura were the only ones who decided to pose.

Sweet Miami Girls!

Then the rain started.  Luckily, we were able to stay semi-dry thanks to this gigantic umbrella and the fact that we were strategically sitting underneath a bridge.  Of course this led to us being mildly squished by all of the people who were running for cover.

Noah and Maria got a little bit more wet than the rest of us, but they don’t look like they minded all that much.

Our waiting was worth it though, because the fireworks were wonderful!  We will definitely be repeat attenders.  Perhaps next year I will suggest renting a hotel room though, personally I don’t enjoy sitting next to half-naked couples making out in very public close quarters.  But hey, that’s just me.  Sometimes Living Lovely is just in the eye of the beholder.

Happy Lovely Living,

Rachael
